Downsmith is a free Markdown editor for macOS and Linux. Pick the file for your system and follow the steps below.

How to install

On macOS

1. Download the .dmg file and open it.
2. Drag Downsmith onto the Applications folder.
3. Start Downsmith. The app is signed and notarized by Apple, so macOS opens it without a warning.

On Linux

• AppImage Any 64-bit distribution

  chmod +x Downsmith_*.AppImage && ./Downsmith_*.AppImage

• .deb Debian, Ubuntu

  sudo apt install ./Downsmith_*_amd64.deb

• .rpm Fedora

  sudo dnf install ./Downsmith-*.rpm

The packages need WebKitGTK 4.1 (libwebkit2gtk-4.1).

The Linux packages are new and have been tested less than the macOS app. If something does not work, please write to contact@downsmith.dev.
